Objectives:

At end of the program, the participants will be able to:

1. Explain how breast cancer and its treatments affect the anatomy and physiology of soft tissue, lymphatics, and function for patients.

2. Explain the need for early identification of patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema based on updated National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines.

3. Describe how to assess impairments and lymphedema unique to patients with breast cancer.

4. Describe treatment options for breast cancer-relate lymphedema.

5. Explain how use of surveillance programs for early identification and intervention can reduce the incidence of breast cancer-related lymphedema.
