Advanced Topics in Head and Neck Cancer Rehabilitation

Wednesday, December 10, 2025

12-1 pm ET | 8-9 pm ET

This advanced-level course is designed for experienced clinicians specializing in the management of HNC survivorship. It offers an in-depth exploration of advanced treatment strategies, anatomical complexities, and the latest research shaping clinical practice. It will enable attendees to gain new insights into assessment and management of treatment-related impairments to the lymphatic, integumentary, digestive, musculoskeletal, and neurological systems. The course will address the impact of internal lymphedema, fibrosis, swallowing function, and psychosocial challenges. Survivorship models of care will be examined to equip providers with the knowledge to refine their approach and optimize patient care.

Objectives:

1. Identify the multi-system effects of complex HNC treatments that may benefit from rehab intervention.

2. Revise HNC assessment to include a thorough investigation of treatment-related symptoms observed in the integumentary, digestive, neuromuscular, and lymphatic systems.

3. Investigate survivorship models of care to promote early rehabilitation intervention and healthy psychosocial response.

4. Introduce long term management options to minimize the progression of debilitating HNC related survivorship issues.

5. Apply a multidisciplinary approach to HNC rehab.
